5G Dual-SIM Mode : When iPhone 12 Users Can Enable It

he inclusion of 5G support in Apple’s iPhone 12 smartphone series became the main selling point for this smartphone series. However, the support for 5G in iPhone 12 has limitations since its launch. The users can’t activate the dual-SIM mode and 5G simultaneously in their iPhone 12. It’s a big problem that will affect the users who need to travel often and want the fastest internet speed to do their work. Also, it will affect those users who often use and need personal and work, two lines.

It’s not that the iPhone 12 smartphone series was the first to support dual-SIM mode. Instead, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XS launched in the year 2018 were reserved for this status. However, iPhone 12 smartphone series became the first to feature the support for 5G. But, there is a big problem with it. The users can enable 5G support on only one SIM card. When you enable dual-SIM mode, the iPhone will start supporting 4G LTE in both SIM.

According to Rene Ritchie, the company is in the process of solving this problem through its latest beta iOS 14.5. The newest beta released by the company has included support for 5G in Dual-SIM mode. If no problem is found, the company will make iOS 14.5 available to the users by enabling dual-SIM support for 5G. Apple may roll out the iOS 14.5 updates to the iPhone users this month if it will follow its schedule of introducing iOS updates it has been following over the past few months. If Apple fails to follow that schedule, then the iOS 14.5 updates with the option to support 5G in dual-SIM mode will most likely come in March.

iOS 14.5: Shaping Up to be a Good Update

The introduction of new support for 5G in dual-SIM mode won’t matter for those iPhone users who don’t use two SIMS currently in their phones. However, this is not the only reason to look towards this update. For example, Apple is also getting ready to introduce a fix for Face ID for iPhone users when wearing a mask. However, the fix does not require the iPhone users to own an Apple Watch and wear it at the same time. The latest update may also include controller support for Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.

With the introduction of significant fixes for enabling dual-SIM mode, Face ID, and controller support, the company is taking significant steps to solve the major issues that its users are experiencing in its products.

There is also the possibility that the next iOS update of Apple will include features for App Transparency. This is one of the latest attempts that Apple is making to improve its users’ privacy and security. It is done to ensure the users their privacy is intact. The company will make sure through the updates that the users are informed. also, they can control the permissions the apps used when installed on any iPhone. Even if the company fails to include the feature related to users’ privacy and security in its next update, iOS 14.5 is shaping to be the upgrade to the iPhone in all respects.
